The final idea I have decided to run with storyline-wise is as follows:
Jennifer is a young, 17 going on 18 year old 6th form student. She very rarely finds herself in teenage relationships and decides she wants someone to be with before she goes to University. She is laughed at for trying internet dating and is referred to as "desperate" because of it.
Through internet dating, Jennifer finds herself a young light-bulb changing apprentice from Yorkshire named Paul who travels around the country a lot due to his work. He is on the internet dating website because he thought it was a social networking site like Facebook. He realises his mistake but continues to use the website anyway. They get talking on the internet and send a few emails and exchange phone numbers. Eventually, Paul's company are contracted to a large office block on the South coast where Jennifer lives. Paul volunteers to go and uses it as an opportunity to meet up with Jennifer. The two of them have a teenage summer romance, and are only separated by Paul having to go to work.
The idea that the internet can bring together such different people (North/South, educated/working for a living) adds a nice touch to the film and is the perfect in-depth comment I would like my film to have.
