For example, the storyline must be altered for maximum effect on the audience. Instead of Speed Dating, the plot will now revolve around the idea of the the protagonist internet dating. Not only is this a better idea for filming sake, it will also appeal to a more teenage audience who have grown up with the age of the internet through the years.
The new idea (plot wise) is as follows:
Jennifer is a young journalist working for a small local newspaper. She is (typically for rom-coms) unlucky in love and wants to find the perfect man for her. Her best friend suggests internet dating. She meets various characters over the internet and then meets the person who she ends up being with in the end. A happy ending is fitting for this feel-good idea.
