"A complete history of my sexual failures."

This trailer - different from what I want to do with mine - has given me some good ideas and also has given me an insight into comedy with a realistic appearance.

A mockumentary style film, delivered in a heart warming way. In the trailer we are made to feel sorry for the protagonist and we pity the fact he is unlucky with relationships - something which I want to include in my trailer.
Furthermore, the protagonist tries all he can and there is a sense of desperation which is emitted from just 1.45 worth of clip.
A very small, independent film, entered into the Sundance Festival. This film is a classic example of British cinema. Although I will be using certain features from this trailer, I do not want my trailer to appear realistic, such is the case with this one.

Mood Board

This is my mood board. It includes elements of glamour and glitz - something which I really want to come across in my trailer. The theme of love and lust is a predominant feature, as it will be in the trailer. The thought bubble over the woman's head with the two comically married couple is there to represent her need for a relationship, the one thing she craves most. This is one of the reasons she starts 'Speed Dating'. The small picture of the apartment represents her single life and her somewhat small yet significant wealth. (Not having to spend money on a wedding as of yet.) The two figures on the left are from an American romcom, and sum up the usual dominant woman stereotype featured in this genre. In the trailer, I plan on representing each of the thoughts that appear on the mood board through script or filming.

"Films which break the boundaries"

When an independent film company makes a film which is deemed as 'different' and receives a large amount of attention from the media and audiences, then the mainstream film producers catch onto this and 'shift' what they are doing to align themselves with what the independent company has done. Therefore, it could be said that any change in cinema is down to an innovative idea from a small film maker, and the powerful companies follow suit. In essence, it makes sense, and this will be considered when filming starts for my trailer.
